Lucky
During the trial Alice’s dear friend was raped in their apartment which causes her to be sad because she loses her friendship because she blames Alice. Alice then goes and lives with Ken Childs and becomes a heavy drinker. Alice wins the case but loses a lot. When she was older she became very promiscuous and a drug addict. She was a famous author. This was a very brutal book. But many life lessons could be learned from it easily.
Lucky
Alice went home and spent the summer with her family, but always felt like she didn’t belong because now she was impure due to the rape. Her sister was still perfect in Alice’s eyes and this made her very jealous and almost brought hatred. However Alice did fall for one of her old friends because she could tell him anything. She had very low self esteem unfortunately which always left her with the wrong people later in life.
Alice did return to school in the fall which surprised everyone. She started taking this class with this professor they called Tess. Alice grew real close to Tess and told her everything about her rape. So in the end Tess helped Alice with her case against the rapist which they found out was George Madison. She actually ran into him a few months in town and he actually approached her which got him arrested when she noticed him. The bad part was when they were at the lineup he brought a guy with him which resembled his looks and Alice chose the wrong guy. This greatly disturbed her and the police chief because they thought the defense was going to run with this during the trial was going on which they did.

This book is very brutal and honestly really disgusting if you ask me. In the first page it talks about the night of her rape in extensive detail. She was walking home from the library when in a dark alley a man comes up behind her and drags her into the tunnel of the theater’s back entrance in Syracuse, Pennsylvania. The details are very graphic so let’s just say the rapist had his way with her, but she was a virgin which made him angry in which he beat her horribly. When he finished he was apologetic and even helped her get dressed. If you ask me he was bipolar because after that he went back to his anger mode I guess you could say because he told her she was going to get pregnant and called her names. What kind of guy would do that?
She then walked back to her dorm room with everyone staring at her. Once her friends Mary Lice and Linda they rushed he to the campus police which then called the real police. Alice was real shaken up, but I mean who wouldn’t be after they had just been raped? The police were even giving her a hard time doubting that she was even raped. That soon changed however, when the doctor examined her area and saw the torn labia and found D.N.A from the rapist. The worst part of this whole ordeal Alice thought was calling her mother. To be honest that should be the least of your worries with all the diseases you could get or even become pregnant. Alice I guess was just afraid of triggering the famous “flaps” or breakdowns her mother always had.

A Raison In the Sun #2
108 to the end
The check finally came in and the family was very happy. What Mrs. Younger decided was to split the money because she knew it was killing her son. Most of it was supposed to go to her daughter, Beneatha, for her medical school payments, and then whatever was left was to be split between Walter’s store and the bank. This is where the crucial mistake in the story happens because two things happen that no one in the family expects. Mrs. Younger decides to put a down payment on a house in a predominantly white neighborhood while Walter decides to lose all the money.
What had happened on the way to the bank Walter stops by his friends place and gives him all the money they had received. The friend then runs with the money and Walter only finds out about it when the third business partner calls him and delivers the news. This sends him into a devastating mental state which scares but also angers the family.
Other than that drama Mrs. Younger thinks she is going to lose her new house because the development threatens their safety. This is a point when everyone needed to think about what was going to happen. In the end they decide to move even with the threats which is good for them they deserve it

A Raison In the Sun
Hard working family named the Youngers that struggle to get by. On the first day of reading I stopped on page 108 or when Travis tells them he wants to become a bus driver. The beginning of the story starts off with the setting being in their living room and how if it wasn’t so battered it would be very well decorated. They live in an apartment in Chicago’s Southside and Ruth the mother works very hard to keep her son and her husband in line which seems like a very hard task.
Walter seems like all he wants is money. His reasoning is he believes they deserve everything better then what they have now. Well his father has passed away and the insurance company was sending a check. This was all that Walter could focus on and came up with all these extravagant ideas but, there was something he was forgetting and Ruth his wife quickly made sure he realized his mistake. The money was his mother’s and not his to deal with. He had already made plans on buying a liquor store with one of his friends.

"The Glass Menagerie"
“The Glass Menagerie” was reproduced by the great Tennessee Williams, but was first written by Eddie Dowling. The story is about a family, a mother son and daughter. Well the daughter, Laura, is crippled due to a child illness. Her legs are uneven and in a brace. She is very shy due to this which I don’t understand because you can’t let life hold you back after one obstacle. She collects special glass things that she cares for more than ever finding a guy.
Her mother, Amanda Wingfield is a confused woman trying to hold on to her past. Her whole life is based on paranoia, which is not good for you at all. She basically thinks something wrong is always happening. She can be cruel but, also very loving. The brother, Tom, who is a poet, works in the warehouse and to stay out of drama basically he acts as if he never cares.
During the play the family struggles with life. Laura is shy and doesn’t get out much and her mother is a nervous wreck all the time. To make matters worse Tom doesn’t come home from work on time always spending time at the movies and the bars leaving the others on their own. Fortunately throughout the play Laura finds a guy with which she has a crush on and he flirts with her. Before the son finds the caller, Jim at work Laura figures out it was a guy she liked in high school. When he arrives like I said they were flirting around and Laura shows him the glass collection. Then they start dancing and when they do they break her favorite glass unicorn. She doesn’t care at first but when she finds out that he was engaged to be married she was very distraught.
When the mother finds out what the son did she was very angry at him but their lives went back to normal over time.
